My wife loves these as many people do, so I snapped up a pair in this sale for her. Tons of cushion with zero drop and negative style. The fact she loves them even though they're so ugly is a good indicator.
I have Olympus, a few pairs of Lone Peaks and Escalantes so I love the fit of Altras but the Duo is really tight around the sesamoid bone (the bone that connects to your big toe. You cant get around this by adjusting the lacing because its a structural part of the shoe. Since there are no returns I had to give these away :(
These are great shoes, but they run about half a size too large. My lone peaks 3.0 are a perfect fit for size 10. You'd think you'd be safe ordering the same size from the same brand, but nope. Order a half size smaller and you will be very happy with this running shoe
I'm a big Altra fan, but these shoes are only ok. Stiff toe rubber crunches down on my toes - hopefully they'll soften up. In addition, Altra has a shoe sizing problem. I'm either an 8 or 8.5 in their shoes, depending on the model, and I never know until I try on any given model. These shoes run large. In addition, they can't be returned or exchanged because of Massdrop. So they get one star.
er123Yeah, I have a feeling there is a design flaw in this particular model at the toe. Both shoes developed dimples between the big toe and the next toe. I’ve made an attempt to heat up the area with a hairdryer on High and force it out from inside but didn’t do it vary long and want to try again later.
Seems that when the shoes are cinched up and tied they pull on the material above the toes and cause it to dimple inward. Kind of annoying pushing on your toes all day. 🤨
