the knife just arrived this morning at first glance the first grip the perfect axis lock system it is as well made for a right-handed as for a left-handed which is always pleasantI think for people who don't want to put too much money and buy a bugout this amare fieldbro is perfect
Highly recommend this blade at the price offered. As an individual with way too many knives as is, I had to dive in on the white G-10 because I simply have nothing like it! I think the only one more 'interesting' might be the natural G-10, but I feel that's more common than white, so maybe not! It's a really slick looking blade, though I do have a few minor niggles.
The G-10 isn't the cleanest-cut piece in the history of bladesmithing, the blade has a few small nicks in the spine (0.5mm or less), and the black finish had a bit of a scuff right out of the box. That said, it's tough to expect super fine attention to detail at this price, so I can't complain too much.
The 'Not Axis' Lock is very positive and seems to lock up solid. It's definitely not as butter-smooth as a Benchmade, but it's darn close and potentially less than HALF the price of the much smaller Mini-Grip. The full-size Griptilian is a better comparison size-wise, but will set you back even more and is CHONKY in comparison to this Fieldbro. I find it to be infinitely easier to open than my smaller Mini-Grip, or my larger SOG Spec-Arc - Goldilocks for sure. Love the skinny, deep carry clip as well, though time will tell if it can hold up to consistent abuse.
I think this blade is a great buy at its price and insanely unique given the white and red G-10 options. If your knife-buying pleasure hinges on perfection, though, you might want to climb a bit higher up the price ladder!
The comment he was replying to was hidden, I'm assuming due to the racist slur, so all I saw was the reply which seemed like an attempt to make the original review racist rather than informative. I can see the first response now so I stand corrected.
My bad, the reply you were replying to was hidden so it looked like you were responding to the review itself. The first comment was definitely some racist douchery
I showed this knife to four friends individually, that are collector’s of edc knives of varying degrees. None had ever heard of this knife or the company who produces it prior to me showing them mine. They all had the same first response. “It’s a bugout?”
Take that as you may but if I was a new knife and I was confused with one of the most iconic edc knives to date, I’d be pretty pumped! 😁
This knife is the perfect alternative to the Benchmade Bugout, heavier but more solid in hands, the blade is sharp as a scalpel and this colors combination is perfect :)
Been using the knife for a couple weeks and I am impressed with the quality and color palette (white/black DLC?). The price point of this knife makes it a great addition to your EDC. My blade is dead center and a little tight on the deploy but a little tuning has it dropping easily. Simple flick of the wrist and it's ready to go.
The only wish I would have would be a blade in M390 or even S35V yeah it would bump the price but it definitely would be worth $125-130 then, and I would gladly purchase a couple more in that configuration. I did buy a second for a friend....hmm might need to buy a few more maybe 1 of each color scheme might have a few jealous buddies if I don't.
This is a great knife for the price, tolerances are good, blade is sharp. As others have said, it is clearly not meant for heavy duty, but that should be obvious with the thin blade and the price point. This is a general light work EDC knife, and it is an excellent one. As others have said, resembles a bugout for a fraction of the price. I get regularly get asked "what knife is that?"
