Is this a 'hybrid' type design, I'm assuming? I've never gotten much out of those in the past, they sound like SS amp to me. I'd like something with some audible distortion or roll off or something. Lol

Amp is SS. Tube is for tone. The tone adjustments alone are worth the money on this. Turntable phono function is nice and warm. I like it for my setup since my speakers are semi-close to the TT. This allows me to adjust the bass down a little to get more sound out.
