While it may look like something out of a 1950s office, the Azio MK-Retro Keyboard is anything but stuck in the past. This special-edition version—making its official debut on Massdrop—comes in your choice of five new colors, available in a limited-production run Read More
I'm not a generally pink guy and i was actually aiming for Gold White. However I was enthralled by the rarity of Black Pink. Typewriter keycaps are rare enough and pink keyboards are even more rare. combine the two for a super rare combination.
anyway finding a matching mouse is a headache. the best match i found is a wireless microsoft mouse (do not want to use RGB coloured mouse, want matt/flat coloured). perhaps have a drop for Azio retro mouse with the same colour scheme please? my mouse doesnt exactly shine the same way the keyboard does.
Just got my black and gold impulse (probably Ambien induced) buy. Not sure how I feel about it. Dont get me wrong, its really nice. Very solid and well built (I especially love how the feet work!). But its BIG and its my first experience with Kailh (Blue) Switches, so far I definitely prefer cherry mx blues. Whatever the case, this wont be something I will use on a regular basis, if at all. I've been trying to go smaller. The K70 is already feeling way too big for me. Gonna see if the Mrs is interested. Otherwise it's probably going up on the eBayz....
In any case, Very well done Azio!
eneroBTW- I have not touched it since I tested it for those few minutes. Packed it right back up, after I showed Mrs. Evetything as it was packed, and I didn't even take the plastic off of anything :)
ClickedyclackI have one of those wired ones at work. I prefer the wired one as I don't need it to be wireless, but they don't make the wired ones anymore.
I am typing on the chrome one right now. Got it from Amazon. As soon as I saw the red and the gold ones on the AZIO website I called them and they directed me to this drop. Just joined to get one of each. Nicest keyboard style and build I've ever seen. Love clicky keys but no way I'm putting an IBM in my retro office. This is a solid, well-built, affordable peripheral. And the chrome is THICK. Make a trackball to go with it. Better yet, a wireless trackball so I can get rid of this ugly thing! (Or so I don't have to brass-plate iot)
So the appeal of Massdrop is what? If you manage to get enough people to buy a product you can get it for a couple dollars cheaper than the listing on Amazon and wait a long time to get it? The MSRPs they list are BS. I just watch this site to find stuff I want to buy elsewhere.
That's true. I've been mostly watching keyboards and monitors lately. I even found a monitor they had a drop on for a hell of a lot cheaper at my local Costco. But I should go back to watching more art supply and gaming drops. It seems to be the only stuff I've seen decent deals on.
DamonWI just come here for the stuff that actually is a good deal, or stuff that can't be purchased elsewhere. Keysets are definitely a big one for me. But yeah, i don't want to wait 3 months to save like $6 on a board.
I got this keyboard in the last drop. It's really well made but due to the tight spacing of the key caps, it has taken some getting used too, I have to be far more accurate with my typing so as not to press multiple or the wrong key.
There's no good reason to trust massdrop with your money, unless you want to get scammed but also want to wait for a few months before you realize that you got scammed.
Just look at what happened to the Ducky Pocket drop from April! https://www.massdrop.com/buy/ducky-pocket-rgb-mechanical-numpad/talk
Woah, woah now these look amazing in the new colors.
The black and hot pink one, white and silver, white and rose, they look so good, but unfortunately looks like this board won't be easily modifiable, the top plate is really close to the keycaps and basically puts you in a position where you buy this board to use only the keycaps it comes with since other might get stuck...
Datamancer's keycap sets might work however, and if they do it would probably be a huge improvement since they won't have the square box like stem that the stock keycaps have.
Unfortunately I'm not that into full size boards anymore... now if they make a 60% board in this style, I'll be all over it since I haven't seen a 60% typewriter aesthetic board yet.
