http://warranty.bdel.com/CarabinerRecall/Landing - Double check recall info - they had a few bad batches with problems...might want to confirm you'll not be impacted...other wise you might find the ground impact to be less than ideal! Good luck!

I'm currently building a rack from scratch, I currently only own 4 locking biners. Is one set of 6 enough or should I get two sets?

DanDaMan919Sounds like you may need a little more time & experience before you start spending a lot on gear. I'd recommend going out with an experienced, knowledgeable trad climber (eg someone with a large rack & many gear types, who has placed them all many times) on a regular basis and learning what pieces you typically need for the areas you're likely to climb, and she how she racks them. That will guide how many 'binders you need. I'd also recommend only using these for cams; I like pairing these with my C4's for the color-coding, easy to see what's on my harness on a lead and know which piece I'm grabbing. As I have a double rack through 3's (triples in 2's & 3's) I use a second setso they all get coded. Then I use 2 more sets for my C3's and equivalent-sized Metolius and Aliens cams. And I probably need 3 more sets and matching cams to round out my Creek rack. So the question you asked really can't be answered by anyone but you, once you know what gear you want and will use regularly.

Thanks ejvincent and n8brown, I saw the Black Diamond web page, but was not sure what those numbers meant. 4400 lbs is a little more then I require... Just a little though. I use straps so I doubt there would be much friction damage, I also figured out these are a lot bigger then what I currently use. But like the light weight! Thanks again.

Does anyone know the weight limit on these? I'm not using them for climbing, but for hammocks, some of the small ones work some bend. Thanks

WolfganggClosed Gate Strength : 20 kN (4496 lbf). Would certainly work for a hammock, however, this is a lightweight biner with premium features designed for climbing. They're going to wear down pretty quickly if you rub ropes on them under load. For hanging a hammock, something heavier is going to be a bit more durable, and probable cheaper as well.

Best all-purpose biner, IMO. Slightly fiddlier than some of the big biners but the weight gains are worth it unless you are really pushing limits. If I were building a rack from scratch it'd be Ozs all the way down.
