Does anyone know what the Rockwell hardness for these blades is at? Got mine in, got lucky, it's a nice bit of kit. Like it so much I just bought a marbled cf version for cheap to swap the scales. Gonna look pretty sick. Anyways, curious as to the hardness, might send it off for a mirror edge.

SocmunkyRockwell hardness for S35VN is 58 - 61 hrc *as per crucible industries (manufacturer) https://www.crucible.com/PDFs%5CDataSheets2010%5CdsS35VNrev12010.pdf

SocmunkyMy impression of Boker from reading many reviews is that their QC these days is suboptimal. I don't know if they HT their steel in house, or have it done elsewhere. Poor HT will lead to a lot of variation. Some manufacturers will run their knives at the low end of the recommended HRC or below to keep the knife less brittle and easier to sharpen. I am fairly sure that The Helton5's guess is, in all likelihood, kind of close to the real figure. I have several knives in S35VN and they all hold an edge very well. This is not an original statement, but a true one, I would rather have a 440C knife with good HT than a S35VN with bad HT. I would not consider purchasing a Boker without handling it first. I purchased a neck knife from them (online) and the grind was horrible, it would be like defending yourself with a dull butter knife. After re-profiling, it was much better. As I depart, I have to say the under 3" is NOT long by my standards, nor is the blade thick at 0.1". If I could handle it, I would consider purchasing it at this price.

TheHelton5I like your guess. Most manufacturers don't take steel up to its Max HRC. Sharpening. Chipping. More belts and time to produce.
