I used a fine toothed saw for this attempt though, and also polished the edges before fusing them. I think if I go slightly rougher on the cut and leave some excess material (usually undesirable, of course) I'll stand a better chance of actually blending the pieces and hiding the join. Stay tuned for the results of my next attempt! :)

We are humbled by the community’s response and excitement over this drop. I’m sure most of you are aware but Signature Plastic’s SA Profile pipeline is packed for the foreseeable future and we are not entirely sure when we would be able to offer this set again. To help ensure everyone has a chance to join in the fun of this SA profile set we will be extending the drop until 6/29 (this will not affect shipment times). Thanks!

Nah I think the shipment of all carbons to MD was due 28/2 and probably delivered in bags of each key type. I imagine MD is sorting them into sets which for the amount on order would be a long and sucky task.

Regarding the warning signs kit - you guys are right - we totally screwed up the pricing there. However, with the help of Signature Plastics - we will be honoring the price for those that are ordered already.

Good news! The Massdrop x T0mb3ry SA Carbon Custom Keycaps have arrived at the warehouse and they are now going through quality control checks. Once these checks are complete the sets will be prepared for shipment.
We are on track to meet our estimated ship date of March 22. We're looking forward to everyone receiving the Carbon Keycap Set!

I feel sorry for the 8000 people who are going to get scammed out of their money. Massdrop can't even fulfill a simple drop with a hundred-something people, do you really think that they'll be able to fulfill 8000 orders?

Maybe he should talk to the many many people who were scammed out of actual 100's of dollars by the numerous infamous Geekhack group buys w/ Ivan, Team RED or SPRiT. I'm sure they'd have a lot of sympathy for him and his $70 Ducky Numpad that he's still going to get.
Give me a break, it's people like @seidenfisch that ruin the community. Don't get me wrong, delays suck, but Massdrop didn't "steal your money" and have every intention of fulfilling your order- if they didn't... I don't think they'd be nearly as successful as they are today?

I got my first set of SA the other day. I expected similar to GMK in terms of feel or quality. Honestly, SA is garbage tier. I don't know why these sets are so expensive. The caps are trash.

Well the dissolved ABS made for a fun little experiment, but I'm definitely not getting any keycaps out of it... The plastic winds up way too porous after the acetone evaporates.
Made a sweet little casting with it though.

MTK4355Have you tried agitating the mold while pouring to remove surface bubbles that create the pores? That might be an idea. Get it a little hotter and pour very slowly. Just a thought.
