To be fair to CEntrance, $99 for a PAIR of 8ft wires w/ bananas cost is not outrageous. Blue Jeans Cables, well known amongst the anti "snake oil" crowd, costs only a few dollars less (~$35-$40 per 8ft wire, or $70-80 for the pair). Sure, the drop price isn't a fair comparison to Blue Jeans MSRP, but you have to take it for what it is. It's massdrop.
That being said, the CEntrance rep needs to understand that there will always be uber zealots on either side (Stereophile vs Audioholics is a good example). As a PR guy, you have to take it all in stride. You can't troll or talk crap at the level of an avg consumer. It makes the company as a whole look petty. You can't single handedly solve "the great cable debate", so just roll with the punches, and give nice answers to the people who have real questions. That's all you can do as a PR rep.

Rsc75Point taken. Haters will hate ;) And I'm not a rep, I'm the designer, so it struck a chord. Apologies. When I learned that Eric Clapton wanted the second set of our speakers with these cables in his studio, I was enthusiastic. Today, I felt quite differently and it showed. I will be more careful.

CEntranceThen I would like a response to my questions on "skin effect" and the purpose of your claims on seperate conductors/frequencies. Since you "designed" these you should be able to adequately voice what it is doing in "these" specific cables withing the audible audio band?
Reps like you are doing a major disservice to the brand, and I'll use "rep" this time as you are on massdrop "representing" CEntrance so it would be wise to respond in an "answering" manner rather than act childish and say haters gonna hate or accuse people who know the cable market and the principals behind signals and conductors.
Also to add it's not the product or price (well it's a little about the price) but the way you have "advertised" it and responded to people here.
Edit: I like how you delete the condescending response in your second last post.

GhettoRiceGive the guy a break - he's trying to sell his product. Whether or not the skin effect (not "skin effect", since it's an actual physics phenomenon) has an impact on the sound is in the ear of the beholder. Regardless, 99 bucks for a well made set of speaker cables is really good deal. You can easily spend over 10K-- check out Transparent Cable.

eypsiI'm not the one here using terms that don't have an impact on the audio band, again it's not the product that I have an issue with it's the way it is "advertised" and the way the CEntrance responses have been.
The cable market is full of this type of thing.
Edit: a response to my original questions from the designer would also help to understand what the thought process behind the claims are. I also don't think giving "breaks" to people just because they are trying to sell a product is a reasonable argument.

Rsc75A friend in Public Relations ( 'Rubenstein'), was always fond of reminding me; "perception is reality" ;)
