I prefer to repair all my keyboards. Despite only having a one layer PCB, the CM storm QFR and stealth are very easy to fix. I have repaired several and guided friends to repair a few as well. One of the benefits of mechanical keyboards. Instead of throwing them away when they break, you can just fix them.
If only they weren't in MX brown. I have almost a thousand sitting around in bags here. Maybe i'll just desolder it and put in other switches. Might as well replace the plate and controller while I'm there. Might as well also "tune" the switches when they're desoldered.
Isn't DIY fun?
