I love everything about this keyboard. The gateron brown aren't quite as satisfying to use as the MX Cherry's I've used in the past, but it's a very satisfying product, looks good, and seems to have been built quality. My only complaint is that your only options are fully built or barebones. There needs to be a medium option. I don't want to mess with switches or weights, just keycaps, plates, and cables (I have a minor numbers-related disability that makes comparing things like weights or values kind of a problem). So I had to buy the fully built keyboard, with a plastic face plate that is now just collecting dust until I bother throwing it away, because I ordered an aluminum plate to replace the default plastic one. Likewise I had to order a whole separate set of keycaps that would arrive and render the caps that shipped with the board useless. (This was actually a saving grace, because it turns out that even though Drop Support told me that the keycaps I ordered would fit my keyboard, not only did they not fit the keyboard, nor did they look anything like their picture). A "half built" keyboard where a user could choose their own usb cable, keycaps, and plate.
All in all, I love my keyboard. I likely won't buy my next one here just to avoid the annoyances I listed above, but I can't imagine this one will die any time soon. If anything, I'll get annoyed that YET ANOTHER EFFING accessory is filled with obnoxious disco lighting and just dig my old IBM keyboard out of storage sometime in the next 2 to 4 years.
Amazing keyboard at a great price. This keyboard is on another level. Relatively quiet, solidly built, and smooth movement (compared to milky yellows on other keyboards). Shown with DCX Solarized Dark Keycap Set. I'm old, so I've used a wide array of keyboards, mechanical and otherwise, over the years (dating back to the Commodore 64). This and the the new Drop Shift V2 are hands down the best.
Absolutely adore this keyboard, it's a perfect fit for someone who gets bored with looks very easily and is constantly changing/upgrading boards for a different vibe. The ability to quickly swap the top case cover of this makes it super easy to quickly change the look/feel of the whole thing at a whim.
Love me a plug and play product. This is nice straight out the box. And the exchangeable cases were the final reason why I went with this as my first mechanical board.
Even in its default state, the keyboard feels great to type on.
I switched to a spacewale keycap and top case, which was a bit of a struggle because the spacebar side keycap didn't fit quite right, but I love it.
YanboWuWhen fitting the spacebar keycaps, I noticed that the holes were slightly out of alignment, whereas the existing keycaps fit perfectly.
I had to press down hard to get it in, and it sounded a little out of level at first, but it's fine now.
Everything is great about this keyboard: switches, stabilizers, keycaps look and texture, sound, weight, layout.
I don't care about the RGB, but even that is excellent.
Make sure the cable is not attached while swapping the faceplate.
The aluminum weight provides a solid feel and the perfect amount of heft. The stabilizers are good. Tons of options to customize its look and feel.
Right of the bat, I recommend replacing the stock switches with Akko V3 Cream Yellow Linear Switches for a lighter, faster typing experience. (Akko V3 Cream Blues Tactiles also work well.)
