What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. The only real gripe I have with the board is minute: The magnetic feet easily get caught on things on my desk when moving the keyboard. This requires me to actually pick up the board with two hands to move it unimpeded, which is only slightly annoying. The feet are of good build quality and the pads on them are nice and thick, so it's literally just the fact that they come off kind of easily that's the problem.
It should be noted that I don't need to program this board for macros or any other functionality, so I have not utilized the software at all, just used it as-is with normal usage.
