Drop Mech Keys Meetup Recap - Thanks for Visiting!
As you may have seen, we just hosted our first meetup in quite a while here at Drop HQ (Corsair HQ, but they seem to like us enough :) )! It was a blast to get to meet so many enthusiasts local to the bay area—it had been 10 years since I was last hanging out with keyboard nerds in the bay, at KeyCon 2014. We had a great time hosting everyone at the offices, checking out all the very nice boards y'all brought, and sharing some of our own projects/spaces! I knew it would be fun to host in the Game Room when I first saw it in person, but seeing it come to fruition was still so cool. Alright, I'll stop blabbering on now. xD Picture time! (Oh, real quick - there will be more of these! Stay tuned for more info and to catch the next one!)

I love the 68% kits out there like the TADA for instance, and I loved the Red Scarf 100%-ish one with the compact numpad and spacing removed from where the homegroup is but I missed out on that one. I don't really want to waste the numpad I got for this kit though, it seems like if the ergonomics are on this could be my daily driver. GMK keys have provided a really nice typing experience, IMO (even nicer than OEM), and I know SA isn't exactly known for its ergonomics/typing speed, but if Matt3o pulled off what he wanted and created a truly ergonomic SA-style cap in MT3, I feel like I should go full 100% for my desktop and use that. In which case, I have a few options. Specifically, I could get another 100% board for MT3, I can get something a bit smaller (missing the homegroup area or the numpad), or go for a 60-70% size board and move my Nautilius keycaps there (to put the MT3 caps on this 100% I'm typing on now).
What is everyone else planning to put them on and any suggestions on what I should do? Space saving isn't a big issue for me, although having a travel board would be nice since I travel a lot for work (in which case GMK would be better than my soon to be favorite keycap set coming in this drop, if I even use a high-end keycap set on my travel board). I have traveled with this keyboard before and it wasn't bad. But as far as when it comes to my desk in my home office, I have a ton of space and function comes before form for me when it comes to layouts. Any ideas?
I have Alpha + Triumph Mods + Triumph Numpad + Triumph Novelties and my initial plan is to buy / build a regular 100% board for it. but right now, I can't really content with "regular" board anymore (sad!) so I need more kits for my upcoming build. (I will post pictures here if I ever finish this build)
