When I got to know that SP's owners are retiring I bought all the SA profile keycaps manufactured by them on Drop.com you should too as they are on steep discounts. Let me start by saying I love the SA profile, its a pleasure to type on the SA profile + tactile switches the sound made by this combination is thocky and deep and I love it. Gaming is not bad either with SA profile. I use this on a Keychron Q5 max keyboard for my office work and they look and sound beautiful. For gaming I use the SA profile keycaps on a zoom75 with linear morandi switches and they sound *chefs kiss* amazing. As expected from SP these keycaps are of very high quality and the legends are crisp and clear. If you like SA profile and want some high quality keycaps you should just buy these now.
this set goes along quite well with my zoom65, signature plastics have honestly exceeded my expectations and getting the set on a sale is a no brainer.
I bought the Oblivion ASCII set for a TKL keyboard; it had all the keycaps I needed. They looked great, especially the ASCII legends (even with the typo on K).
But, after using them for 2 years (3 days a week on my daily driver), they're starting to wear out and get shiny/glossy. It's visually noticeable and I can even feel it when I type (I touch type so it''s super important to have good feeling keycaps.)
So I had to ding the review from 5 to 4 stars.
Highly recommend this set - feel solid to the touch and produces a very satisfying thocky tone. Recently SA profile keycaps have really interested me and this set really was impressive.
Love the amount of sets you can get to fit your needs. A really flexible set that works on a lot of boards and the good ole SA profile for a retro look.
As a fan of high profile keycaps, I was thrilled to find some of these sets were recently on sale. I scooped up a set of the Hagoromo ASCII alphas to pair with the unused Genespeed mods I had from a Godspeed kit I paired with the Ares mods. It looks fantastic on my Vortex PC66, the grey and white pair wonderfully with the retro beige. More importantly, the keycaps sound fantastic thanks to the resonance of this keyboard.
Hopefully this sale doesn't indicate that Drop is moving away from SA in favor of MT3, as it's easily my favorite profile!
These are excellent keycaps and love the way they feel. This is my first time with the SA profile, and I picked it because I have very big hands and long fingers.
The keycaps are slightly wobbly, but I believe that is to be expected with SA caps, and isn't an issue with this product. So I didn't deduct a star for it.
