Does this light have mode memory? If not what brightness is the default?

Yes, it has mode memory. The push button on the back is fairly sensitive, so you just have to make sure you depress it fully to regain the mode you last had on. Great torch for price....I carry mine daily and it’s been very reliable.

is there a suggestion for a good / great brand / model 14500 battery? ( so many options , brands , flat tops , power ratings etc )

Can anyone recommend an aftermarket diffuser tip for this model? The Lumintop AA version comes with one for example, but they don't seem to sell them as spares.
