Originally released in 2018, our Zambumon-designed GMK Serika Keycap Set earned itself thousands of fans in short order. In 2019, we brought it back in our exclusive MT3 profile with expanded compatibility. Now, MT3 Serika is making the rounds again in an R2 with four new standalone starter kits. Like its predecessors, this striking set features creamy beige alphas, golden yellow modifiers, and black legends—but what really sets it apart is its bespoke typeface, Audacia, inspired by IBM beamspring terminals and Olivetti typewriters. Of course, MT3-profile keycaps have their own connection to old-school terminals. Heavily slanted from front to back, they feature deeply scooped tops for a wildly satisfying feel that blends retro and modern. Now with new kits and a streamlined kit structure overall, MT3 Serika R2 makes it easier than ever to experience MT3 typing—Serika-style.
Made from PBT plastic—a fan-favorite keycap material—this MX-compatible set is both long lasting and resistant to the shine that occurs after long hours of typing. The legends, which are custom-made in bespoke Audacia font, are dye-sublimated, so they won’t fade over the long haul. Even the texture of MT3-profile keycaps has been praised by keyboard enthusiasts.
In the words of keycap designer Zambumon: “Keyboards are the interface between a person and a computer. They’re an indispensable tool for most people's jobs, so they better be good.” The Spanish designer has been involved in the world of mechanical keyboards since 2015—and his work has made a notable impression on the growing community. Some of his most well-known projects include Amazing Chocolatier, a brown and gold set inspired by Roald Dahl’s classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; Nautilus, a deep-sea tribute to Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea; and Jamón, a red set that honors Zambumon’s native Spain’s delicious cured ham. Serika may be his most popular set here on Drop—but if we have our way, it certainly won’t be his last. Stay tuned for more from Zambumon in the future.
