I'm due to receive my ergodox soon, but while I was waiting I bought 3 "Soldering Board SMT SMD for Practice" from ebay. Highly recommended if you are not experienced with soldering. These small boards come with 77 SMD components and they cost just $2.22!

EEVblog soldering tutorial videos are also helpful, even though I found myself more comfortable with a conical tip, rather than the chisel tip he suggests to use. I hope I will not have any components missing, but I also bought 50 diodes for about $5 to be safe =) Can't wait to receive my ergodox!

andreachiThis is a fantastic comment. I just joined the newest drop and was paranoid with all of the small pieces and the soldering involved with them. Will definitely be picking up a few of these practice boards!
