You broke down and bought another monitor for your PC, but that stationary stand doesn’t exactly make room for a wide range of formations. For a monitor stand with a full range of motion that clamps easily to your desk, lock into an ErgoTech Freedom Arm and liberate yourself from computing limitations Read More
I purchased the Heavy Duty to use on a large curved monitor - this thing is well built, easy to install, and articulates very well. I could see people with light (20"-25") monitors having issues keeping tension on the spring, even after adjustment. this can cause the monitor to creep up or not stay on a low position. For light monitors i would get the Standard version, or add weights.
Man this thing is fantastic and well built, I'm using a decently heave ultrawide on it and I doubt the arm noticed it.
The only thing I would change is make the monitor tilt [downwards and upwards] easier and with a greater degree of tilt
(Heavy Duty version) A very well-built monitor arm. I use this to mount a Samsung 32 inch curved monitor on my desk and it works perfectly for that. I will say, if I did it over, I would have chosen the standard model as even my 32 inch monitor isn't really heavy enough for the HD version.
The reason I deducted a star is more for the marketing photos. In some of the photos, it looked like it has (and I assumed that it came with) two mounting options. A clamp type mount to secure it to the side of the desk and a through desk option where you drill a hole through the desk and mount it that way. The through-desk mounting system is what I wanted, but found that it is not included in the drop. ErgoTech makes one, but you have to buy it separately through the company. It was a great deal for the drop price, but I didn't save anything once the extra purchase was factored in.
ZeroengelFor me, it's 11.5 inches with my monitor in the landscape position and I don't have a problem, distance-wise, with turning my 32" monitor into portrait mode.
Since the VESA locations on some monitors differ, if it helps, I get 17.5 inches to the bottom of the VESA mounting mechanism that's on the monitor arm itself.
Nice, sturdy. Have 34" curved UW on standard arm; holds stable. Hope it is available if I am in need of another arm.
Might deduct a tad from perfection as the routed cables are not completely out of view, but they are neatly held.
i bought 2 standard for the same desk. the springs are different in them and one doesn't hold its position and droops over time. the other is too strong and i cant get it to go any lower. they are holding the same monitors.
