Used this tent for several years before finally transitioning to one of the more expensive ultralight companies. A great budget/solo/light tent. Know what you are buying however as the lower weight and smaller pack size come at a price of interior space. I would consider it a glorified bivy at best. You definitely cannot sit up, however it is long/wide enough for me (6'4") and my 70# dog to fit in...although very closely. The tent is storm proof with the rain fly on properly. Only durability issue are the poles. I've broke them twice and had friends with the same tent also break theirs. Eureka has been awesome at replacing the poles free of charge under warranty. Eureka even modified my older version of tent once to be "easier" on the poles. They are fiberglass and will crack if bent too far, so be warned and take your time setting up. If you have to force it...you're not doing it right.

Two of us slept in the Eureka Solitaire (yes two of us in a 1-man) the entire length of the AT in 2012. Spray this tent with Campdry about 100 times, upgrade the stakes to titanium, and you've got a lightweight, amazing tent. This tent is small enough to stealth camp in the smallest places. You can usually buy this thing pretty cheap on Amazon too.
jottoh12Well at least now I know why they made me ship mine back for a refund. Some lucky camper must have got to purchase the stitched up tent that collapsed on me.
Hey everyone - we had a technical glitch that temporarily shut down this particular drop, but now everything should be running normally. If you previously joined the drop, we may reach out to you to recommit - we're still looking into the status. Thanks!
I bought a solitaire about 2 years ago, and, as I always do, camped out in it in my back yard before taking it out on a trip. Wasn't a fan of the whole bivy thing since it felt a little like a festive coffin. But I fell asleep and slept quite well. Didn't even notice how wet I was until I woke up in the morning. The poles had snapped, and the sharp ends punctured the pole sleeves.
Funny thing is, I was worried about the poles and was planning on purchasing some aluminum replacements, but since they broke on the first night it became a non-issue.
I contacted the website I purchased it from and they said they would only give me a refund if I shipped the tent and all the parts back to them at my cost (rather than having me fully destroy it and send them proof).
