Just starting another comment thread for a certain somebody to make the same worn out joke on. Maybe even drop a remark about how big his e-peen is, and more misguided quotes. You're welcome bud!
SGPS is just a type of stainless steel, it has WAY too much vanadium to be Damascus, maybe about 2000 percent. The pattern on the blade is not consistent with Damascus either, though it is consistent with simple pattern welding with acid etch finish.
Pattern welding isn't Damascus, no matter how much of a humpty-duptyism you insist it is.
How does that make his comment any less relevant to customers in America?
Besides, Amazon ships internationally. This knife in particular is only offered via third party sellers so it's a bit different, but it's $190 + $10 shipping to Canada on amazon.com. Less of a deal over all, but cheaper shipping (If your $18 quote was in USD anyway).
FulluphighHow does that make his comment any less relevant to customers in America? I'm not sure I understand this comment.
What I meant to convey was, a lot of the USA based online shops don't even ship to Canada. When they do, it's with outrageous costs. Amazon.com does not ship most of its products to Canada at all; indeed, third party sellers often do ship to Canada out of Amazon.com, but with even more outrageous costs (I even recently saw a $121 shipping quote, I don't even remember what it was for - probably some clerical mistake, but still).
So the gist of what I mean is: Drop ships many of these products to non-USA buyers, with very reasonable costs (most of the time). Even if some products are a few bucks more compared to specialized American e-commerce sites, it's still a great deal for non-USA customers (caveat: returns are a hassle, however).
American buyers have to understand that Drop can potentially do a lot of foreign sales even with slightly higher prices; andAmerican buyers have to stop complaining about said prices - global commerce is not all centered on American buyers.
They are embarrassed about the clip. It cost their team a touchdown. And the game. The corkscrew was left in the champaign bottle after an early insertion. They were working on the hedge fund with the hedge trimmer and the SEC got wind of it. Lastly, the nine iron had rusted.
Extras. Extras? Like a clip? Like a sheath? LIke a lanyard hole? Like jimping?
Even without any extras, I might have to spring for this one. My only Damascus is the Maserin turtle which was a gift.
I did look at the pictures and asking was my last resort before I commited to a purchase. I'm sure I wasn't the only person wondering. Keep your sarcasm to your friends who might appreciate it. I asked a question, didn't ask for smart ass comments neither what I "should" Google in case I ran into people such as yourself.
If being an ass makes you feel better there's a list a things you "should" do yourself to change that but you didn't ask for my opinion the same way I didn't ask for yours. Now if you don't mind don't waste any effort playing a keyboard warrior with me, I'm sure your demeanor wouldn't be the same if this conversation was happening face to face.
Funny you should mention that!
Oddly, it was the rash of dumb questions that first compelled me to begin commenting in the first place--in the form of asking dumber questions!
I reasoned that by asking exceptionally dumb questions, I could shine a light on the issue and thereby encourage members to A) think before asking a question, B) read earlier member comments before asking their question, and C) most importantly, to do more independent research in order to answer their own question and hopefully provide those answers back to fellow members.
Despite my best intentions, I must conclude the experiment has been a dismal failure. Dumb questions and comments are more prevalent than ever, particularly those asked by low-number members (@nodieusa for example), a group that includes both new members, and those who have been members for ages. The common denominator among both groups seems to be INFREQUENCY. Evidently Kasper Gutman was on to something when he told Sam Spade: "I distrust a close-mouthed man. He generally picks the wrong time to talk and says the wrong things. Talking's something you can't do judiciously, unless you keep in practice."In fairness to@nodieusa , MD didn't specifically say the knife in question didn't come with a pocket clip. The listing also didn't say it doesn't come with a bottle opener, a corkscrew, a Phillips-head screw driver, a hedge trimmer, a nine iron or a flamethrower--all of which are legitimate dumb questions other members are likely to ask over the course of the drop, and since @nodieusa has already outed himself as an asker of dumb questions (and therefore has nothing to loose by asking further dumb questions), I suggest members reluctant to ask their own dumb questions, forward those questions to @nodieusa who can ask them on their behalf!
This could turn out to be a source of additional income for @nodieusa , who would certainly be entitled to charge a fee for providing this service to other members. I suggest a sliding scale, based on the dumbness factor assigned to a given question (for example, a question as dumb as: "...but does it not have a pocket clip?" would score a 10 on the Dumb-O-Meeter, while a lessor dumb question (say for instance: "Is shipping free to Kurdistan?" would only rate a 4. And of course, any question that begins with: "Maybe a dumb question but..." would automatically be assigned double points.
As to the other problem around here--a shocking lack of any measurable sense of humor among that same low-number crowd, I say: "When you're slapped you'll take it and like it!"
The lack of relevant specs on a knife selling for this price is laughable. Will drop ever learn or continue to just do as they please customers be damned?
Also, adding blades to all this other stuff (ALL of which I have NO interest) is really irritating and has made my perusing of this site much less desirable and odds of buying anything nearly non-existent . Bring back the Blades community, separate of the other stuff.
Or don't, and watch more and more people lose interest as you post knives with nearly no relevant specs and/or necessary pictures to make any real decision to buy with confidence here.
Kingdimofkush81And without pocket clips, corkscrews, hedge trimmers, and nine-irons!
Seriously--don't they have any clue as to who their customers are?
