Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

By that logic you should wait till 2018, maybe you can get the TH-X00 for the same price too. Get back to me if there's another Fostex I'm not aware of currently with better "value".
Edit: On a more positive note, here's some headphones that I actually do consider interesting, at around the same price range. And just for fun, I'll actually keep it relevant, and only talk about closed models. The ZMF Headphones Vibro Mk II ($479), the Oppo PM-3 ($399) and the Audeze SINE ($449/499 depending on cable).
I have heard everything but the Sine, own a TH-X00 & ZMF, and think the TH-X00 is still great value, and with a good source/amp scales reasonably well. It's not a reference headphone/TOTL by a stretch, but it's really enjoyable with fun bass.
Did you go with the Cipher cable as well, or just the regular one?
Yeah, Tyll review is convincing enough and my local community also review it in very positive light. I guess I won't go wrong with it, can't wait until the end of the month to try it out myself. :)
