Product Description
Available in a variety of solid colors, as well as a clear demonstrator style, the Darjeeling from Fountain Pen Revolution is a reasonably priced daily writer—and it makes a great first fountain pen for anyone starting out. It features the company’s swappable #6 nib units with a chrome finish and can be used with the included converter, with a cartridge, or as an eyedropper-filled pen Read More
Overall I found then pens to be worth the price. Mine writes nice. At some point I will get a better converter but the one that comes with it works fine. My one issue is the smell. Luckily over time the smell is calming down but I didn’t want to use it in public in case others smelled it. The smell reminds me of Silly Putty. The smell makes it a four star. once the smell lessened it is a good starter pen
First off, there is a "smell" there but I have not found it obnoxious or overpowering. These pens came to me "as advertised and worked correctly out of the package (can't speak for others but that was my experience). Secondly , I have learned from amassing a huge collection that, in most cases, a $10 or $12 pen most times will not be up to the same standards as a $50 or $100 pen. It looks and functions like I expect a $10 or $12 pen to function.
There are some brands that over deliver for the money like Schneider, Online and Lamy but the trick here is to try match value with quality.
I guess if one is looking for that "special" pen to use everyday then these may not be the right (write) ones but, if you are new to the hobby or are just looking for an everyday pen, then owning and using these pens is a great way to learn and progress.
I gave these 3 stars only because there is no way to give them 3 1/2 stars. The quality is acceptable. The writing experience is acceptable. Exactly what I expect from pens at this price. These are not "grail" pens but are decent (but not great) value with acceptable quality for the price we paid.
Nibs are functional. Quality for the price is just OK, plenty of superior offerings coming out of China. Regarding the smell that others have mentioned, yes, there is a horrible odor. Not a typical off-gassing kind of smell that you might be expecting (as I was). It does smell organic in origin, faintly similar to human body odor. I am not a chemical engineer, so I am not sure how this is possible. Tried a dish soap clean and soak, now trying bleach. Even if this works to remove the smell, overall, I cannot recommend this product.
These pens stink! I have washed them, soaked them, sprayed them with perfume and still can't get that horrible smell off them. Unbearable! In the rubbish they go, 50 bucks (AUD) wiser now!
These are complete garbage, don't waste your money! They smell horrible, have ink flow problems, and the nibs suck. I really wish I could return them and get my money back. Very disappointing.
Like every budget pen this isnt anything special, they're cheap and accept standard size nibs (6 I believe?) Used it with a flex nib that had slight line variation without bending the tips. Set your expectations properly
The pen writes ok, good grip, but materials are cheap (as to be expected by a pen costing so little, and comes in a 2 pack).

Very poorly made. Has a strange odour that never went away.
The pen is light to hold and of a comfortable length. However, the nib is very scratchy, and the pen dries out even after I capped it after every use - this is something that almost never happen with the other fountain pens I had used, and I believe it boils down to poor manufacturing standards or lack of good quality control. There is also a strange odour from the pen since day one that has persisted all the way till today.
I no longer use this. I wouldn't recommend anyone get it as well.
These are good pens for beginning fountain pen users. The nibs are rough and not smooth. If you want to introduce fountain pens to your kids this is also a good and inexpensive way.
