I use these on my office mechanical keyboard. Silent enough to not annoy people when I’m on a call, yet still thoccky enough to be satisfying.
other favorites for context: lubed carrot switches, stock Gateron yellow caps, lubed Gateron 8008 ink switches.
I recently stumbled upon this box of switches when I was moving, and decided to revisit them. I remember hating these when I originally purchased them, mostly because I was pretty deep into tactile switches and thought these were a travesty. And, to be clear, I still think that they're a fairly mediocre tactile switch. That being said, in the intervening years I've become much more enthralled by linear switches, and have come to develop more of an appreciation for a smooth switch without a tactile event. With this added context, I've come to the conclusion that these Aliaz switches are better than I remember. I may try lubing and/or modding them to see if I can come up with something interesting.
We use these on our TV PC keyboard. They sound fine, very quiet. Typing on them isn't the most enjoyable experience but we do have them on a super budget keyboard with some super budget keycaps so that's not entirely their fault. The action is just a little mushy though.
I was worried about being too clacky with my mechanical keyboard and got these, and yeah, they're relatively quiet and feel good. They aren't silent, though. Be clear on that. But, sure, they're pretty quiet.
I wasn’t expecting to like these but I got two varieties of force in a switch multipack. This is now my go to for daily typing. Satisfying full sound and gives me good feedback.
