How long is normal for the payment status to be at 'pending'?

EpicFlyingBulbzMine was pending for a while and then it said Failed for some reason. I had to re-enter my payment information and it went through.

PrizelessMine just went through the day or maybe two days after the drop ended without a problem. I just expected payment to go through a few hours after it had ended.
