"Gain: 7.5x / 16.5 dB" Is the 7.5x gain a bit high for sensitive headphones and IEM? I have a few blue Alps volume pot and they have noticeable channel imbalance at low volume. And based on the earlier post linking to the headfi, it seems like Justin is using a Alps volume pot.
Why not a have a gain switch like in the GS-1?

Nihaoyeah, I'm pretty sure there will be slight channel balance at low volumes. it's the Alps.
lack of gain switch might be to reduce cost? not sure...just guessing.

gyamsWe actually don't use the pots with any channel imbalance. I was never able to nail down a good electrical pass/fail test for this, so instead I use a sensitive headphone and slowly turn it up, if it comes in even to my ears, then we'll use it. The gain switch in the GS-1 wasn't done very well, it extended the feedback loops of the channels up to the switch. In the GS-X mk2 we fixed this by using miniature relays directly underneath the amplifier module.

JustinWilsonI appreciate your willingness to admit and talk about flaws in your (much!) earlier designs. Progress toward transparency is the point.
