Don't buy this when the K Type's on... that's just silliness.
(Ignore this comment. I was under some wrong impressions about this board. It's a good buy if you like the look.)

TelFiRE I'm sure all the people who PREFER the looks of the MF-87 agree with you. That K Type looks silly! ('cause looks are subjective and all that) Almost as silly as your blanket statement... LOL

TheChosenOneLooks? I'm talking about features. There's no comparison there.
As far as looks go, you're comparing solid aluminum to cheap plastic, so sure it's "subjective" but I don't really understand those who prefer plastic.
Edit: my bad, this is alu.

steuerAre you asking about the K Type or this IKBC? I can't really see whether the IKBC has one or not but the K Type uses a detachable cable. However you may not be able to use your cable because it is USB type C on the end that plugs into the keyboard.

TelFiREThe ikbc mf-87 IS solid Aluminium mate! You must be confusing it with the "standard" f-87, which has a plastic case. Read the product description before blanket statement. As for all those "features", same thing... I will not speak for others, but I was aware of the K Type and I consciously chose this keyboard as I suspect others did too. That's it.

TheChosenOneYou're right, I'm sorry, I confused this with a plastic board. It's a much much better buy in that case.

TelFiRELook, even the plastic one is a good buy for the "correct" price. Not everyone is willing to shell out so much money simply for the joy of typing on a board encased in solid Aluminium. I always wanted a somewhat "affordable" Al cased mech keyboard which has stabilized keys that do not sound and feel like they're about to fall off and isn't a floating keys (too much light bleeding) design and this is IT. I'm sure lot other peeps been waiting to the K type too and to each his own, as always! Cheers!

steuer If referring to the MF-87, it has a removable cable micro USB. Very nice cable I might add!

steuerPlate mounted switches. Thought about de-soldering everything and change or paint the plate white, but decided against it and getting a silver/white replacement instead. Change it up a bit, all I ever had was black keyboards.

steuerI'm still not sure which keyboard you're talking about, but with the K Type, the switches have hotswap sockets, so you can easily just pull the switches out and put new ones in. I plan to add Zealios, unless I like the Halo True more which is quite possible.
With this keyboard you would have to de-solder, which isn't too hard if you have the equipment, but you do need the tools and it takes a bit of time.
