dbcooperThe physical layout is HHKB inspired, which most people seem to enjoy. There the backspace is a function layer key where the \| key typically is (above enter), with the normal function being delete. But this keyboard being fully remapable, you can have backspace be anywhere on any layer. Unless you really really prefer it being a double wide key in the original location, I think it'd be more efficient elsewhere as a smaller key.
