Box Navy switches are my favourite, but for my new build i wanted a little bit lighter clicky switches, so Box Jade was the obvious choice and it did not disappoint.
First of all, understand that Kailh Box clicky switches have a strong click on the downstroke with an equally strong click on release. If you like that, then this is your switch, it's the sweet spot between their Box White and Box Navy. It CLICKS! However, if you prefer only the downstroke click and don't want much feedback going back up, then box clickies aren't your switch.
After trying out click bar clickies (box navy and box jade), I'm not going back to click jacket.
I ended up preferring the heavier feel of the navies, but I'm a heavy typer. Bonus is that the jades are really pretty.
Very 'snappy', I think, and a fantastic clicky switch just like the Box Whites. Definitely the move if you find Box Whites are too light for you. I like both. The Box Whites feel a little more...'refined' with their click, while these have a little more assertiveness.
I originally just wanted to build a memeboard and these were the only option I had for that. What ended up happening was that I just transferred the switches from the memboard to my main office board. Might have to buy another set so I can start converting friends to clickies as well. Highly recommended!
While I am a new owner of a Drop ALT, I have used mechanical keyboards for work and leisure for several years now. Coming from several brands of gaming keyboard adjustable optical switches during that time, I was worried about finding a switch that would replicate that seamlessly yet responsive experience. Happy to say, these are the best choice I ever made for my ALT board to date. From the smooth yet quick feeling travel time, these switches really embody a satisfying combined clicky/tactile approach and the result is simply amazing!!
