The side with the 4 prongs is for Cherry style switches. You align the 4 prongs with the plastic locking tabs on the switch and press down. The prongs on the switch opener push the locking tabs out so the top housing lifts off.
The other side is for Kailh BOX switches. Same basic idea on opening.
