I love Klymit products and this is no exception. This pad makes staying warm in a hammock during cold weather a breeze. The only thing I dislike about it is that it is a bit tedious to roll up and put back in its stuff sack.

I think everyone is in the same with their review. At first it was a bit awkward but it is really nice how it opens up the hammock! I slept with the non insulated in 40 degree weather with a 20 degree rated quilt and it was chilly on bottom but did very well without an under-quilt. I think with a wool blanket or something of the sort would act like an insulated pad.
Really wish the insulated option was available during my drop.

love The Hammock V Pad. ! I had been using ENO Hotspot pad Wings, being foam they take up a lot of space. The V Pad doesn’t move around on my Hammock and covers more area on the Hammock. I prefer the pad to the under quilt, if I camp above the tree line where there is no place to swing the Hammock. I still have an insulated pad to sleep on.

Used the pad on an October bikepacking trip, with an outside night temperature staying above freezing. The pad did not offer enough insulation to keep warm. It does pack down reasonably well but the weight is noticeable compared to an underquilt. 3 stars for coverage in the hammock and staying in place. Better for summer use when you mostly need wind protection. Works better than the Thermorest pad I used to use in my Hennesey hammock.

I love this pad for what it is. It is a insulated sleeping pad that actually covers your shoulders , hips and even your feet splayed out in a figure four. The pad really helps keep out those annoying cold spots (cbs). I never use it on its own as it's way heavier than my underquilt. What I use it for is in conjunction with my cold weather underquilt so I can reach sub zero and snuff out potential cold areas. The pad stays put and doesn't slide at all once in position. I give it 4 stars because of it's weight, packed size and I'm not sold on the valve setup. I've had this valve and one on a regular klymit static get stuck during the winter. As a result it's very hard to deflate. The way around that is to use a inflator bag like the one that comes with a thermarest. When you exhale into the pad in order to inflate it you're exhaling moisture into the pad and it lowers the efficiency as well as causes the valve to stick.

The Klymit V pad is excellent for my Eno Double-nest.
It allows me as a side sleeper to be supported and insulated in my hammock.

I have used this pad for nearly a year now and it's fantastic. Suits how I use my hammock and does what it promises. You'll never get it back into the original bag and it's heavy but worth the trade off for warmth and emergency going to ground back up☺
