One of the most well-reviewed keyboards in the mech keys community, the KPrepublic GK84 is a tenkeyless board with a full set numbers, function keys, and arrows—all packed into a form factor that wastes not a smidge of space. The keycaps, made from PBT, are durable and resistant to the oil that builds up from typing over time Read More
I’m afraid that US$54 for shopping to AU on top of the keyboard price along with the doubts about the reprogramming capability and BT3 mean that as much as I’d like to see if this is my unicorn, I’m better using that money to look elsewhere. GK64 so close, but optical switches? Cheers!
This might seem obvious but it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen a drop not have the minimum purchasers but:
If this doesn’t get 11+ buyers before the drop ends, this won’t end up shipping? I really love the caps, the aluminum is nice and the keyboard is fine by me. I’m okay with the price but it would be unfortunate if I can’t actually buy it since I can’t seem to find the keycaps anywhere.
I did. Can’t provide a ton of detail at the moment, but the index value for the key is incorrect. Something about being set to 80 when it’s actually 81 or vice versa. There are forum threads about it out there. I had to use a fan-made GK6x reprogrammer, that another fan made a Web interface for. Hopefully that’s enough info to find it.
IronWolf0117Thank you for the reply. I actually found the same program before but never thought the index values would be wrong. After doing a bit more reading and looking for info about the mentioned index value 81, I was finally able to remap the DEL key. Once again, thank you SO much!
Also what about software, does it even use QMK? I saw a review on KPrepublic for the wooden gk84 and said there is no manual and has terrible firmware.
dara_okwood gk84 is have english version driver program, isn't use QMK, Gk84 have english version drivers program. The driver can adjust the lighting mode, set various lights and macros on the graphical interface, and have music rhythm.
dara_okthe program is trash, i saw taeha and countless others say if you want to program the board youre going to have a hard time. the lack of english isnt the issue. the program literally just refuses to accept what you want it to do. try and change a key 10 times and on the 11th time it might work it might not. i cant say it wont work but it wont be a fun time.
Hi all,
What’s the differences between silent and silent red? I want a 84% wireless keyboard with silent switches... will you recommend this keyboard? If so, what’s the best silent switch available for this keyboard? I have tried silent red from ducky and wanted to try to zealios
so why is this board 240$ when a gk64 with an aluminium case is just over 100$? this case is obviously high quality but the difference in cost doesnt add up. is this a newer pcb than the original gk84? and will there be a low cost option for the case?
jawdnGk64 has only one lower cover, while the upper cover of Gk84 is a 3D positioning board, and the positioning board of 4Mm thickness is all formed by Cnc. If I upload a picture later, you will know why the cost of Gk84 exceeds that of Gk64.
