A great writer
As someone relatively new to FPs, writing with this felt natural and intuitive (M Nib). Good build quality and well designed. Great value presented here.

A great pen for the price
This pen is a decent size, and writes beautifully. I got it in maroon, and I use it all the time at work. I use Pilot Iroshizuku ink, and it's like a match made in heaven.

Lamy makes my all-time favorite fountain pen
The Lamy Al Star fountain pen is shaped like the Safari with a triangular grip, but the Al Star is made of aluminum where the Safari is ABS plastic. It has a transparent grip so you can see the ink flow. Both have the characteristic wide-U clip that is as wide as the entire pen is. It's not a particularly attractive clip, but it's definitely functional. At $32, this is a good price for an Al-Star, which usually start around $35. I suspect the cheaper price is due to the color options. Lamy nibs are generally smooth and consistent. They're replaceable. You can find Lamy nibs in different sizes if you hurt your nib, or want a different flow.

Great pen for the price
I am not usually a fan of cheap pens but this one does good. I had to write with mine a little bit to get it writing smooth. It was a little scratchy at first but it cleared up. For the money you have to expect some work to make it a pen you will grab first.

Great pen, very smooth
I'm not usually a fan of fine nibs, but it seemed like a natural addition to my collection, and I absolutely love it. It writes beautifully straight out of the box, and great to have the converter come as as option.
