Got these today. Here's some info for people looking to buy these.
These things are really, really tiny. They're built well, but I just thought they'd be a bit bigger.
They don't clip to the base of the key, they basically rest on top of it. Basically the stickiness of my finger is able to knock it off when no keycaps are on. However, they seem to hold up just fine while typing, and i haven't had one knock back and reveal the white LED under it.
I really don't think you're going to be able to travel with these. If your keyboard turns more than 45 degrees, I think these will fall out since they aren't clipped on.
They reduce your brightness, A LOT. I have a quickfire TK, and the max brightness setting with the LED shades on makes it look similar to the lowest setting without them on. For me, this is fine, since I hate having it on max brightness anyway, the level it's on is perfectly fine, but it just can't get super bright, that's something to remember.
They modify the feel of the keyboard really, really slightly. I don't think I really notice them on my main keys (qwerty), but I can definitely notice a big increase in friction on my space bar, so I may just take that one led shade off for that key, since you can't really see the white anyway.
My biggest gripe with these is just that they don't actually clip onto anything, so they'll fall off during travel, which sucks, but I guess that's the price to make your keyboard look awesome.
EDIT: The reason I felt a big increase on my spacebar is because I used to have it upside down, which caused some of the plastic to rub together. After re-reversing the spacebar, I don't really feel a difference with them on or off.
bryster126I just put these on my Ducky Shine 3 last night and I really have to agree on the keyboard feel being modified. If I bottom out I can feel the closer side of the key dropping lower than the further side, which was disorienting when I was first playing around with the keys post color changers.
I also had to put my Ducky on max brightness which makes the keys look great but means I have to have changers on all keys and it might not look as good on keyboards that can't get as bright.
Never thought about the traveling issue, but I do agree that they likely would fall out.
