Sylvania "Bad Boy" tubes were recommended to me for tube rolling. The problem with the Mk III is that the gold circles around the insert holes do not allow a tube converter to fit...any work arounds or solutions?

mpb65unless you can take the gold bits off probably not I looked around for adapters that might fit but didn't see any

mpb65You need to get a socket saver. If you want to use those tubes, you would need this,9 pin socket saver ecc88 (https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Gold-9pin-ECC83-12AX7-ECC82-12AU7-ECC81-12AT7-EL84-6BQ5-Vacuum-Tube-Socket-Saver/313204683204?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2648)
Then you would need a 6SN7 to ECC88 adapter.
