Anyone know how I could make this flashlight dimmer? Looking to use it for medical reasons but the dim setting is still a tad bright to shine into someones eyes.

adecrescenzoThere is no easy way. You would need to alter things never intended to be touched after production.

InMyNameDid some googling. I'm going to try getting some neutral density gel films and cut a circle to fit over the end. Hopefully that works.

Otherwise, the Lumintop IYP365 penlight with the Nichia LED might be better suited, at half the lumens. Perhaps in brass, which shares the antimicrobial properties of copper.

chenrazeeI know what you mean. That one looks nice, but I like this one because it's smaller. I'm waiting on a neutral density film to come in the mail to bring the intensity down a tad.

adecrescenzoDc fix film is a good option for a diffuser film, I use it on a lot of my smaller lights. But it doesn't effect output enough to make this a viable light for eye exams. I would recommend something like the astrolux a01. It's low setting is around 1 lumen, and it also is a single AAA light that runs a nichia 219b led. If you are handy with a soldering iron, you could get on budget light forum and look up reylight, he did a special run of the copper lumintop tools that had a l-m-h sequence driver similar to these, except the low was a moonlight mode. Depending on the led I believe it was 1 lumen or less.
