Several posts have reported that the electron button on these MassDrop/Lumintop flashlights stopped working. I have encountered this a couple of times now with the Blue Titanium AAA flashlight that I just received and have discovered why it’s happening.
The seals on the light are so good that if the battery you use experiences any off-gassing, pressure will build up inside the light to a point where you can’t push the button down to turn the light ON. In fact, it feels like the button has broken entirely.
However, I unscrewed the button end just a bit, heard a “Pffttt!” sound, and suddenly the button works again. Apparently, high pressure inside the light can prevent the button from being pushed down at all. Thought this might be helpful to those who have reported button issues.
I've literally carried mine every day for 3 months now. Started with Alkalines and moved to Eneloops, and never had it off-gas to my knowledge...
