Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Sys output to the speakers, Sys input to (CTH+SDAC) and I would just switch between inputs to use either headphone or speakers right?
The input on the CTH is for the SDAC right? Sorry I'm really new to this :(
If the SDAC will be your only source and your speakers are powered: Connect the SDAC output (3.5mm TRS) to one of the inputs of your SYS, and connect the output of your SYS to the speakers. Hooked up this way you're just using the SYS as a volume control for the speakers. As long as you don't use the other analog input of either the SYS or CTH, you can effectively use the input selector on each device to independently enable/disable the headphones and speakers.
Alternatively you could hook up your SYS in reverse: connect the SDAC output (3.5mm TRS) to the 'output' of the SYS, and then connect the two 'inputs' of the SYS to the inputs of the CTH and your speakers. Now you can use the input selector on the SYS to switch between headphones and speakers. You'll need an extra RCA cable to hook it up this way, and when using the SYS input selector to enable the headphones the analog signal path will be less direct than if you use the input selector on the CTH to select the internal SDAC connection.
Which method you use really depends on whether it's important to you to be able to switch between headphones and speakers with just one flick of a switch rather than two.
PS: No, the input on the CTH is not for the SDAC (there's an internal connection for that). It's for an external analog source. The input selector on the CTH+SDAC switches between the internal SDAC input and the external RCA input.
I can't foresee any problems with your proposed setup, it should work just as you describe.
