Probably the best headphones you can buy at $200
if you are looking for an enjoyable headphone. One that is pleasant and pleasing to listen to after a long day at work, just get a pair of these. I have had mine since the end of 2016. I was able to jump into the original drop of the HD6xx. I have bought several other headphones throughout this time and I always ended up with these. the 6xx lacks quantity in bass, but it does not lack quality. it has enough for genres like Jazz, not enough for other genres though. I am currently powering my 6xx through the Massdrop Liquid Carbon and it just such a beautiful pairing. There is zero fatigue. the liquid carbon adds a bit of umph on the bass too. these are great headphones for vocals. Male & female After almost 3 years of buying and selling headphones, these are still sitting on my desk, because I have not found a better value than these anywhere

A Top-Notch Experience From Beginning To End!
From the painless ordering process to making sure that the product arrived on time professionally packaged, along with an invoice to the actual product itself - the HD 6XX - Wow! I have been listening to music for over 40 years and have never heard my music like this before. Little nuances that were never heard before come out here. Not like hearing it for the first time, but like hearing a different mix of the same song. Very impressive Drop, please give yourselves a big hand for making these beautiful headphones even more available for all to enjoy!

What are "open back headphones"?
Open backs project sound both towards your ears and out the sides of the earpieces. This makes the sound feel as if they are coming from further away. Good for replicating the directions of where each vocals and instruments are coming from; like at a concert. Close backs sound as if the music is coming from the centre of your head; you get less "directional" experience but they feel more intimate. Open backs leak sound so if you are riding on public transport, the people sitting next to you might look at you sideways wonder why you are playing music for everyone around you. Most high end headphones are open back so don't worry about losing any sound quality from the leakage!
What is the best amp (or amp/dac) to pair with the HD6XX?
They go well with my Modi/Magni Schiit stack

Great headphones for first audiophile pair
If your looking for something to start your audiophile journey, this would be a great pair to start with. The detail in the music you hear is great. From hearing the separation of the stereo channels in CCR fortunate son, to realizing that ozzy and Elton John were singing at the same time in Ordinary Man, you can hear the details of the songs you listen to. Also the technicals i heard while listening to deadmouse and Marshmello for techno was amazing. The only down side is you don't have bass thump as others but it's detailed. Overall a amazing headphone.

Based on sound it's 5 stars
However these are nowhere near as premium looking as a hifiman sundara, for example, but based on sound alone they are 5 stars still. Consider a wireless anc set may look as premium as, but in a few years most become expensive paperweights, with only a pathetic wired mode available . I have a pxc550 that's barely Used, and redundant!! £270+ down the pan.

Neutral and Accurate
These are neutral and have a pleasant smooth sound signature. You can spend a fortune on headphones and still not get neutral sound. Their only flaw is that they need more deep bass to match the Harman Target Curve and sound like flat speakers. You should equalize them to fix this problem.

Honestly, they’re fantastic.
For the price, it’s hands down the best sound I’ve experienced. The clarity, the warmth—it’s all there. It reminds me of the AirPods Max in terms of quality, but these feel more refined and balanced, especially for critical listening. If you’re into music and want something solid without breaking the bank, these are a no-brainer.

Best entry to audio as a hobby (Dope sounding cans)
Probably the best deal you can get. Might not like the sound initially, but transitioning from massive subs in the back of a 2003 Honda Civic takes time. Valid Cans at a valid price

Great Sound, Uncomfortable Fit
No complaints about sound quality, they sound great. Plastic build doesn't feel cheap, doesn't feel out of this world . Extremely tight fit that hurts if you try them out of the box. After breaking them in (by adjusting the headband to max length then leaving the earcups clamped around something larger than my head) the fit becomes comfortable. The earcups themselves are more spacious than most headphones, but your ears will likely still rub up against the membrane while listening. Amazing deal for the price ($179)

Goated Headphones at $200
One of the best headphones you can get at this price point. Good for casual listening and for critical mixing. They go around my ears instead of smashing them like other headphones with smaller earcups. The notch out in the padding on the headband prevents some pain on the top of your head during long sessions. Comfortable, affordable, and nice frequency response.

This is "endgame" for most people
This is one of the best value headphones you can get under 200$ - while preference is subjective, but this at least has the ability for you to EQ the flat frequency response every which way. It gives you exactly what you ask of it, and if you leave everything at defaults, you might not even notice you are wearing headphones.
