What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. I will list its benefits below, but can state right at this point that the SpaceFN concept, setting up your space key as a layer switch when held, is clearly one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby....

"The Core is tricky, I've never looked into getting one so I'm not having the easiest time guessing what the key sizes are - however, if I had to guesstimate, you need base alphas, 60% mods and tsangan (or UK, you need the short shift) for sure and then probably TKL to fill a couple of the remaining slots.
This is if you want 100% legend accuracy however, this is DSA which is a uniform profile so if you want you could mix and match some of the keys and probably skip a few kits - you could get novelties or accents instead for example to replace the short shift you'll be needing from the UK/TSA kit. Matter of fact, you could most likely just go with alphas + 60% mods and then novelties/accents of your liking to fill in the gaps and skip the other kits - that's what I would most likely do."
Mismatched labels would throw me off and since Core is 40% keyboard, I have some keys programmed "weird" with several roles. So, I prefer to use blanks for "outside" keys including modifiers. Unfortunately, current Blanks Kit does not work.
Core has the following dark shade keys: 10 1u, 4 1.25u, 3 1.75u. It would be nice if "Core" Blanks Kit including these keys can be offered. Core owners, if you agree, pls give your THUMB UP. If not, a fallback would be sourcing blanks from SP online website, but I rather avoid that hassle.
