Greetings, Finally getting around (on Tuesday, June 4th) to deploying my Monster Vision™ Insight Focus Premium 4K UHD Webcam that I received from Drop on May 30th. First off, I want to address the fact that this product was misrepresented by Drop on their website. To wit, in Drop's SPECS table: SPECS
  • Monster
  • Resolution: 3084 x 2160 (4K)
  • Camera detail: 12 MP
  • Frame rate: 60 fps
  • ...
This was one of the main selling points for me, and the reason I bought the thing in the first place. Unfortunately, it is not until you have the box in hand that you discover, according to Monster®, the frame rate is in fact:
  • 30FPS @ 4K Ultra HD (up to 3840 x 2160p)
  • 60/30FPS @ 1080p Full HD (up to 1920 x 1080p)
(Monster® is careful in other places on the box to specify "up to 60FPS", unfortunately, Drop was not so careful) For this reason alone, I want to return the webcam to Drop. In addition to this I would echo the quality comments left by others. My Logitech c922 Pro webcam produces a far better image. So... how do I return this for a refund? = s.west

samuelkwestI posted the following down in someone else's thread, but thought I should put it in here, as well: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I sent a support request for a refund, clearly spelling out that the basis for my request was that the item was not-as-advertised (60fps vs 30fps for 4K) and received a rejection on the first try: "After reviewing your order, we are unable to facilitate a return for the Monster Vision Insight Focus Premium 4K UHD Webcam as we only offer returns for items that arrive damaged, defective, not-as-advertised, or are missing components. Any issues must be reported within 30 days of delivery." I have responded with a more forceful demand, and included my explicit reasoning:
In the SPEC table, that is included in your message to me, the resolution and frame rate are specified as:
  • Resolution: 3084 x 2160 (4K)  (sic)
  • Frame rate: 60 fps
However, after receiving the camera I discovered, from the packaging, that the frame rate is actually:
  • 30 FPS @ 4K Ultra HD (up to 3840 x 2160p)
  • 60/30 FPS @ 1080p Full HD (up to 1920 x 1080p)
This is, clearly, NOT AS ADVERTISED... I purchased the Monster Vision™ Insight Focus Premium 4K UHD Webcam from Drop because you said that the frame rate/resolution was 60 fps at 3084 x 2160 (4K) (sic), but the camera, according to Monster®, has a frame rate of 30fps at 3840 x 2160p.
I hope that this gets a more focused response. That is, I hope that the representative is explicit in explaining why the differences above do not constitute 'not-as-advertised'. Have you (or anyone else) tried to get a refund? I'll post back on progress. = s.west
