I guess I’ll have to wait for the 1st wave to review this drop. As I have concerns Very curious to see how the optional filters are applied; are they just pushed into the earpiece ? Is there the potential for a filter to be left deep in your ear canal ? Without a lip , will there be a retention issue with the tips ?

LGCiI did not see any reference to filters (tuning?). They do provide wax guards. If they are like the ones supplied with the older Shure IEM models, they have a slightly sticky adhesive and attache to the end of the nozzle/sound tube before you put the tips on. Pain in the neck based on my experience with Shure E2c, and if you use them, they will need it be replaced at some frequency. My experience with nozzles that do not have retainer lips to hold the tips is that the tips do come off on occasion. When this happens they need to extracted from my ear canal. No easy task. It makes sense, right? You chose a tip that gives a good seal, so it wants to stay in your ear.

zombywoofI see in the description of the package’s content they reference them as being wax guards, as you surmised. But a screen is a screen, is a screen; they will skew the sound. At least the included tweezers serve two purposes: wax on/wax off and getting those pesky tips out of your ear canals. :)

LGCiHaHa...that is what the tweezers are for...not likely to stick those things into my ear canal, though. Again, my experience with something like these wax guards was years ago with the Shure's...can't say one way or another what they might do to the sound.
