This is the D5 Connected. It does have all the mapping. The regular D5 does not.

I bought this a while back and while I think it works great, the wifi frustrates me to no end. It ends up disconnected all the time, and I have to run through the reset procedure to get it back online. The wifi is only for getting status updates and setting schedules. This model doesn't do visual mapping.

I bought one from Amazon two weeks ago as a Mothers Day and Anniversary gift for the wife. I've been very pleased with it. We have tile and hardwoods with a few area rugs throughout the house. It handles everything really well except for the thickest of the rugs . I'd recommend the D5 as an alt to other robotic vacuum cleaners.

Anyone really uses the wifi shenanigans? I have the neat DX, and every single time i will run it I have to walk around the entire room to make triple sure that there is no USB or other cable close to the floor. Because if there is any cable, all robots will just chew on them until the battery is dead. And after you walked around the room to find the cable, just pressing the button on the robot is easy. And it have scheduling anyways. I'd jump in on a drop with the cheaper model instead. Which this one is, anyway, since it is the older dumb model, but with the useless wifi.

I'm totally bummed that this is coming up now and not two weeks ago before I bought one myself. If you're looking for a robot vacuum, a neato is the only way to go. It maps out your house rather than bumping around randomly and goes from room to room to room with no problems. It also seems to learn from one day to the next. On the first day we had it, our vacuum got stuck and took two hours to do the floor. Since then, it's gotten faster and faster and has never gotten stuck or taken more than one hour to do the job.

as an owner of this Neato, I'll vouch for its kick-assness. Hundred bucks off the street price as well. You'll like it better than the competitors vacuum bots. just set the schedule in the app and forget it. Runs about 3 hours on a charge. When the battery gets low, it docks to recharge, then picks up where it left off. We had a 2500 sqft one level house and it would vacuum the whole place every day while we were at work. Sends a note and a map to your phone when finished. does great on carpet and hardwoods. Highly recommended!

I think I have the Nintendo one you're talking about: Neato XV-21. I've had it for three and a half years so far with minimal issues. We did replace the battery, but that was probably my fault. I left the vacuum off the charger for over a month, and it went from great battery life to needing 3 charges to do the same area. And it knocked over a precariously placed metal rod and smashed the screen, buttons still work to run it though.
I have every intention of buying another Neato whenever this one finally dies.
