I had purchased a rotary mat before, and this one is of significantly better quality. What I really like about this OLFA Spinning May is 1) it has diagonal as well as vertical and horizontal lines; and 2) the lines are not too thick. They are thin and precise which makes it easy to make half square triangles and flying geese. Also, the mat is on the table, as opposed to on a pedestal, so it doesn’t wobble when you cut. I LIKE this mat!

Mat is nice to cut on, but it doesn't spin or really turn. I ended up getting a Martelli mat when they had a half off sale.

It is great and allows me to turn the mat around especially because my sewing area isnt that big so can just turn it.

as a quilter, this is definitely one of my most useful purchases. this is a great size for trimming blocks, and other smaller sewing. i really appreciated it when paper piecing. it's also a good size to take to classes, and not too awkward, or bulky to carry around. just be careful because it is in two pieces.
