Anyone have any ink recommendations? I want to use the squeeze bulb (not simple replacement cartridges). The Pilot ink is expensive and I'm sure there's got to be other fountain pen ink that works just as well, I just don't know which ones.
CydeWeysThe possibilities are nearly limitless. Just look at http://www.gouletpens.com/Ink_s/1198.htm (I am a very happy customer from them). Personally, I stick to a selection of noodler's inks (which come in a very wide range of colors and properties, and are cheap) although there are many other brands and retailers out there.
CydeWeysI went with Noodler's Bullerproof Black based a couple of fountain pen / ink forums I browsed after getting the pen. Everyone seems to agree it's the best thing ever. I can't really comment on that as it's the only ink I've ever tried. The colour is a nice deep black, it dries quickly and after that's it's pretty much indelible. It's available on Amazon for 12.54$ and I can see a 3oz bottle lasting the better part of a year.

EDIT: If Canadian (as I am), I suggest you get it from www.stylo.ca as it's cheaper (17$ vs. 34$) than from Amazon.ca even with shipping (8$). They have a couple of physical locations in Montreal, Laval and Quebec City.
CydeWeysMy first ink I purchased was also Noodlers Bulletproof black. I like it thus far. I spent some time on http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/ looking at reviews before purchasing it.
I do love this pen so far myself. I purchased a fountain pen on Kickstarter for $37.... and this Pilot is SO much better. Though I'm gonna have to clean out the Kickstarter pen and try it with the Noodlers ink, see if maybe the cartridges it came with were bad.
I think I'll purchase another Metropolitan!
