What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. I will list its benefits below, but can state right at this point that the SpaceFN concept, setting up your space key as a layer switch when held, is clearly one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby....

I'm definitely regretting offering assembly (building the boards) at this point, and to both help with that load and get you your Plancks sooner, I wanna offer those of you that purchased a middle piece with a stainless steel or brass plate (SS is a better deal, obviously) to be able to upgrade to a milled case in exchange for removing assembly. If you're interested in this, go to the transaction tab, select the Planck drop and contact support with the color you're interested in.
I've decided to open up my question threads on http://reddit.com/r/olkb to Massdrop orders! It's limited to seeing your number in the fulfillment queue, but I'm hoping that will allow you guys to see that stuff is actually going out :)
Finally, for transparency, here are the parts and numbers I'm currently waiting on, all of which will be in by next Friday - keep in mind that these numbers include a little bit of padding for bad pieces, etc.
* Brass top plates: 47
* Brass bottom plates: 84
* Walnut pieces: 17
* Mahogany piece: 40
* Padauk pieces: 64
* Cedar pieces: 15
* Acrylic pieces: 120
Thanks everybody!
