This is a superb Bluetooth portable DAC amp. Got one of these after the brief hype when it came out and haven't even considered other units since. The battery life is great, the range is great, and you can set up profiles for different headphones. ...and it has a balanced output. This a good price.
So, team, are we buying this? Do we know if there is a replacement model coming up, as this has been out since 2020? Having said that, has the device's hardware been revised at all since it came out? I've heard that it now comes with a LiPo (fire hot, lol) instead of a Li-Ion battery. Anything else?
Also, I would be curious to read your use cases for this device (how do you use it).
I still use my GET too, shame the company and product information pretty much evaporated. Is this the way to go for similar capabilities but better support?
I want this pretty bad!
I did my research previously… I like that the USB mode offers support for gaming headsets with a boom mic, in Bluetooth mode it has a great selection of codecs, and generally it has a lot going for it. For the long version, here was my post on Discord asking Drop to carry it: https://discord.com/channels/320264590112063488/1096133042348761199/1096133042348761199
LD_TypeRight? One of those hidden gem features, but it stood out for me. Again, it only works in USB mode and you have to enable it in the companion app, but yeah I’d say it’s a handy feature!
Putting aside the estimated shipping date, there’s also the shipping fee (unless you purchase something else, to get you to the free shipping threshold of $125); which brings you perilously close to the $109, at the big A.
I will say the Qudelix 5K is a great way to experiment with tweaking your IEM’s sound signature. The 10 band PEQ, with 10 user presets is class (pricing tier) leading.
The 2.5mm vs. Pentaconn debate: I don’t hear the audio advantage to the 4.4mm, over the 2.5mm. If the argument is over the larger termination being stronger and less prone to breaking. What’re you doing, that puts the 2.5mm in peril ?
I work in a machine shop, and this this thing has battery life to last a 10+ hour shift with enough left over for a second 8 hour the next day. Great sound quality besides. Amazing bang for the buck even at full price. I like these things so much that I already own a backup for when my main one fails. I might buy another at this price.
I have and love this. Best value/performance of any audio product i have owned. Gets remarkably close to my desk set up (schiit Johtenheim 2/bifrost 2) at a fraction of the cost. Love the headphone specific eq options. My hdxx, focal elex, Koss Porta Pro all sound great.
PapaNoel3Papa, I'm considering a Jot2 with either a Multibit card or a separate Bifrost DAC to drive my Senn 800S. Any thoughts on the two DACs? Or the Jot amp? Thanks.
This is the new king of Bluetooth DACs, step aside ES100. The software is arguably better than the ES100 with preset for hundreds of headphones, super gradually control, and to top it all off, USB-C instead of the old micro-USB port. Oh yeah, 2.5mm balanced output is awesome.
I've owned this since it was released. Its got the longest range of any bt receiver I've used (I think its class 1). I put it on LDAC adaptive and I can go in my backyard with it attached to my Hifiman XX. When I get closer to the transmitter the quality increases. Its the perfect balance! Love the PEQ and its been relatively stable. (It crashes every now and then but you just restart it quickly when it does - probably happens once a week of 8 hours per day usage)
hoodafukisaliceI'm guessing because to avoid the wall of text, they just provided a link to the user guide (which, by the way, includes almost everything shown in the Amazon page)
