Product Description
Taking the place of a standard ruler when cutting fabric strips, the Quilter’s Slidelock is a must-have for crafters. Unlike conventional rulers, you can cut up to 6 layers of fabric, it won’t move around while measuring, and the results will always be balanced Read More

For any quilter/sewer that is looking for a tool that keeps multiple layers of fabric in place while cutting - this is the tool! It is one of my favorite. I have both the smaller and larger slidelocks and they are used almost daily in my sewing room! It is an awesome tool and one I would recommend to anyone. I bought mine through a Massdrop Drop and at the time it was a lot cheaper than purchasing elsewhere (and none of my local shops carried). Well worth the investment. I think I have cut up to 8 layers of fabric without movement. :-)

The ad says the 14” is -$12 Off the 39.99, but when I put it in the order it is -$5. Which is it? I’d like to know before I order, hopefully today. Thank you!

What does the (-12$) mean? Is it an $12 off the 36.99. When I put both in the cart is ended up being both the 23" and the 14" were both $36,99

It would be nice if they would include a left-handed person in the demonstration video for cutting. I don't see how you can measure with a ruler and then cut with this slidelock ruler if you are left-handed. Can anyone help me on this one?

lederjeanI'm a lefty too! Couldn't it be used by turning it around and holding it in your right hand? Or am I oversimplifying it?
was so excited to receive mine - I've been using one at work (at a LQS) ... but mine arrived cracked :( waiting to hear back on what to do about it ...

I would buy in a flash if there was a 24" with laser etched measurements like on their rulers. Any chance of seeing if they would make a custom order for MassDrop?

NomerYou don't need measurements on it. It's designed to be used as a holder. I use my ruler to measure, move the Slidelock against the ruler, push down, (move the ruler out of the way), then cut against the slidelock. Fantastic for cutting strips of WOF. Accurate cuts because it doesn't move.

My stuff usually slides around from the bottom. How does this help stop the slippage? (I know - complete moron, but I'm good with it if someone can please enlighten me.)

dottibThis ruler has little suction cups on the bottom & when you press down it grabs the fabric.

dottibNot suction cups. It is well placed "knobs" of silicone that when you push down, it is held the entire length of the fabric. Trust me, I no longer have bad cuts for my binding strips. I have and use both sizes.
