1.5"? Seriously? I recently picked up a 2" bladed knife, nice titanium frame/scales, and it's about the bottom limit of what I consider useful:

Any smaller and it starts to feel almost doll-house size. The artistry in this Rike knife is wonderful and the price is very attractive. if only it had a 2" blade. Reluctantly passing...

Yes, seems like it would make a great broach or pendant. ;-)

I would really like this if it was a good sized knife. It's pretty, but I've seen longer toothpicks. Awaiting the knife sized one.

Could we please have less knives, and more actually useful real ultralite hiking & camping gear? What has happened to Drop? Knife after knife after knife after knife after knife - one is quite enough thanks, and they don't even ship internationally. Can we please return to gear that is actually relevant to ultralite? Zpacks, HMG, MLD, Evernew, ... Packs, stoves, quilts, headlamps, parkas, ...

That’s an interesting viewpoint. I came to this site only for knives so it’s easy to forget that they offer other products. I think they may have started taking off because of knife sales but I could totally be wrong.

I am curious if the artistry on the knife is derived from anywhere. Like is any part of the design inspired by any traditional cultural styles, even loosely?

I never noticed that the blade may resemble a beak, that's interesting. That Cicada really does look amazing though, both accurate and beautifully integrated into the knife.

By some of the standards today it's occasionally nice to step back from the "raptors" , "eagles" , and "falcons" and their respective "claws" and see subtle and actual influence in a knife . Not preaching own a "falcon" and "falcon claw" myself , just nice to see a little artistic variety now and then.

Very stylish knife. In my line of work I need an EDC to open boxes and whatnot, but I'm also prone to losing them for some reason. I've lost 2 utility blade jackknives in the past 2 years alone. Losing this would absolutely suck (and whoever found it would be rather lucky!). But something like this would be perfect because it would require very little room in your pocket, which my pockets are already full of stuff like pens, flashlight, thumb drive, keys, change, etc etc.

The sheath that it comes with allows one to wear it around the neck. It doesn't require pocket room. And the knife will better protected from wear. The Spyderco on my keyring is now sporting a nice keywashed finish on both exposed blade and scales.

It actually hasn't crossed my mind to use it as a necklace, it's actually a very good idea and probably would be the safest place to keep it. I haven't lost my head yet. Haha.

It's truly a beautiful piece. Such a shame that so many gave it low ratings simply because it is every bit as small as the description says it is. "Damn, it really is 1.5 inches... 1 star." And I don't care what any knife collector says, at least half the knives we buy are for the aesthetics and not the functionality.

Really neat little knife to have handy at your desk for opening envelopes, packages, cutting tape or trimming plastic. Here it is among the rest of my current collection giving you an idea of the size. https://drop.com/talk/23805/photos A knife doesn’t need to be large, threatening, or “tactical” to Be useful.
