adam4163Back in the days before internet commerce, watches are usually sold at jewelry stores and jewelry departments and a good salesman can sell these close to MSRP making a killing on margin. Nowadays, internet marketing pretty much made everyone more competitive and destroying the margins they used to get because it's so easy to research before you buy. If you go to Macy's or Nordstrom's, you'll still see the retailer markup because not all their clientele are technologically equipped or care to do the research.

L_DiddyAt Macy's in Herald Square (Manhattan) over the last weekend - a really huge department store.
Watches all at full list. "We had a sale last weekend." Not sure who buys at list price, but I have a few things I would like to sell them ;-)
