Whether in watches, signs, or advertisements, contrasting colors make for excellent legibility. The Seiko SRPC5X employs a combination of orange, black, and white for a look that’s easy to read with just a quick glance Read More
I reached out to MD on Tuesday about the misrepresentation of the origin of the SRPC59 and the misaligned bezel. I got an automatic reply saying my request was received and would be reviewed by a member of their support team as soon as possible. Anyone know how long it typically takes MD to respond?
Anyone else order the SRPC59 and get the K1 instead of the J1 that was represented in the photos?
scubalabI did as well, although MD's often a gamble with misrepresented pics. Consdering the price, I sort of figured it was too good to be true. Response times depend on communication with the original vendor, although this should be MD's responsibility.
ApexevoMine (Also the SRPC59) arrived in my office on Friday. I too was expecting the J1 model based on the pictures but also got the K1 model. It is very disappointing that the pictures clearly showed "Made in Japan", no mention of the full model number (with J1 or K1) were given, and several queries in the discussion were completely ignored by Massdrop. Additionally, mine has a misaligned bezel as well (see first picture). Very disappointed in Massdrop for the false representation of the product as well as the quality of the watch received.
I just picked up the Urchin a few weeks ago and I really wasn't planning on another Seiko. But its so pretty and from Japan and those monster hands....! I want, but my watch budget is mean muggin me right now...
Why not, right? Sorry about my mis-write, I must have switched the -$10 and the 15 units in my head. You are correct on the units. My a.m. math is suspect, hehe.
I'm seriously tempted on this one. I have an SRP605K1 that I paid a little less for (basically the same watch) about 6 months ago. I guess it is/was somewhat rare. It's selling for a lot more (if you can find it) now. It's my daily wear watch. I get a lot of compliments on it.
The 4R36 movement is a solid movement. Mine is about 15-25 seconds/day fast. It is hacking and hand-winding capable.
This is a LARGE watch. Not obnoxiously large, but it does sit high on the wrist with the concave bezel that actually sits higher than the crystal. The bezel is nice and turns smoothly. The indices are all raised and have great lume. And the bracelet is a little better than I was expecting for the price of the watch.
