I really like the blade itself but I feel like the handle and the sheath leave a bit to be desired. When it was new the sheath was incredibly tight when new but now its gotten loose and its starting to split at point when the edge goes in. The handle was really rough but took some 220 grit sandpaper to it and some BLO and its ok now.
Fairly sharp. Great as a utility knife which is what it's meant for. The sheath is a bit tight so it can drag on the blade as the blade comes out. The finish if the wood is a sanded wood texture.
Overall it’s a beautiful knife.
Like many others here, there is some space between the base of the blade and the handle, which could capture food/whatever.
Im going to see if some beeswax fills it well and go from there, though I’ll most likely just be displaying this knife.
I liked it in general, and if you want Japanese style knife with wooden handle and case, sure get it.
Cons: not a perfect fit between handle and sheath. whole construction is made from 2 wooden parts glued together and seam is noticeable. Also big gaps where blade is fitted into the handle. Sharpness was OK, paper slicing but no wow. Edge is quite good and thin actually. Agree with other reviewers, this wood needs some treatment too.
The price tag on this way to expensive. Handle very cheap quality. I've done nothing more with this knife than remove it from the sheath the blade likes to slide out of the handle where the blade joins the wooden handle.. I would not recommend this knife to anyone. The actual blade on knife seems to be very sharp and decent quality but it doesnt stay together well with almost nonexistent use.
